IMAGINATION

Kids, a wonderful gift you have is your imagination,
With it, you can have a world of your own creation.
You can be a superhero or an astronaut floating in space,
You can be what you want and go any place.

From the bottom of the sea, or the moon, or the stars,
Or zooming around tracks in fast racing cars.
It gives you freedom, it gives some relief,
From a world that is full of anxiety and grief.

But finally, you will have to return to a world that’s real,
And you need people there who care a lot about the way that you feel.
To take care of every one of your needs,
And be real heroes and do heroic deeds.

A new world has to be built that is good for kids too,
And building that world is only something adults can do.
We have to build a new world for this generation,
And I mean a “for real” world,
And not one that is made up in their imaginations.
