ME AND MY PHONE

Wherever I go, I’m never alone,
I’m with my best friend, my shiny new phone.
Though Mom says best friends go out to play,
We just yikkity-phone-yakkity for most of the day,
And we don’t ever talk or even say “hi.”

We don’t count the clouds and the birds in the sky,
We just sit on the couch and talk, talk on the phone.
It’s no wonder; sometimes I feel so alone.
Now life is so boring, and so is TV.
I need real friends who will play with me.

So I went to the playground where all the kids go,
And there was Sally, Kristen, and Joe.
And they yelled, “Ye-a-a-a-h Zack!” or “Zackaroo Zack!”
Now I’m so happy with all my true friends,
And that’s how the story of me and my shiny new phone ends!
