TIME
The sands of time drift by, and right before your eyes,
The hours, days, and years slip away; that’s how quickly time flies.
As new ways come in, the old ways have to go,
Lots of things have changed for the better, but where is the change for the better for kids? That’s what I’d like to know!
We have all sorts of new machines and medicines to help keep kids alive,
But in this world of chaos, kids are too often the victims, and it’s really hard for them to survive.
We have devices for kids, and kids are on them every single day,
But for kids, that only steals the magic of childhood away.
We build beautiful buildings with skylights and even glass walls,
But to keep the peace, we have police patrolling the halls.
Kids are confused; they don’t know how to react,
In a world in which they are so often attacked.
So much for handheld devices,
Instead of a fine future for kids, we’ve put them in a crisis.
We have to change our ways so kids can awaken to a new dawn,
And we have to do it right now, because kids grow up quickly, and time marches on.
Kids are sad and confused; they don’t know what to do,
So, big people, fixing things right now is all up to you.
